Stepping in to my home country (India) after a year of research fellowship with Dr Douglas R Anderson, Dr Don Budenz and other staff at Department of Glaucoma at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute had an immense positive impact in my personal knowledge and skills in the field, and I learnt tips of how to become a good clinical researcher, leader and manager with a balance life style.
Currently, I am working as a Faculty Retina and Research at Lotus Eye care hospital, Coimbatore, TN, India.
I could guide and inspire our fellows and optometry staff towards clinical research with the help of background experience that I gained during my fellowship at Bascom.
Although I am out of the institute now and residing at the other end of the globe, but even now very often I take suggestions from my mentors regarding the current research projects I am working on. It provides me the opportunity to correct my mistakes and become better.
On personal front, after coming back to India, I got married to Rohini Tripathi who is a dentist by profession. I wish someday I can bring her to Miami to show the world class institute and introduce to her dedicated staff whom I worked with.
I always feel proud that I was a part of Bascom at some point of my life.
